Experience:

I have been a coach for 20 years in a variety of sports including swimming.  I was born in the Pilbara and spent the majority of my youth in the pool.  My fondest childhood memory was travelling around Western Australia to compete at swimming events.  For 13 years I swam in the Pilbara Champs, North West Champs, Country Pennants and State Champs.  At 12 I was selected in the WA State Country Swimming Team to travel to the USA.  I continued to swim competitively until age 16.  I now have two children who are members at the club and I hope my time and effort in volunteering as a coach and committee member will make a difference to the development of our Tom Price swimmers.  This season I will start my training to become a Bronze Level Swimming Coach under the guidance of Ray.

Last season was my first as a swimming coach.  I have been a swimming teacher for over 4 years and felt this was a natural progression for me.  This year I coached a Tee Ball team and feel I have learnt a lot from this experience which I can adapt to enhance my swim coaching.  I am also a mother of two boys which has equipped me with patience, organisational skills and good communication skills.
