Club Night Time Trials

Rules and Guidelines

Registering for Club Night ....

  1. Club Night Time Trials are held on selected Thursdays nights.  Please refer to the club calendar for dates.

  2. Competitive swimmers are required to attend.  Recreational swimmers are encouraged to attend.  Parents of swimmers aged 9 and under must be at the pool at all times.

  3. Championship points are earned at Club Night Time Trials.  The swimmers with the most points will be our Champion Boy and Girl at the end of the season.

  4. Swimmers must advise the register for races each week by Monday 5pm by emailing registrartpswimclub@gmail.com.

  5. If the registrar does not receive an email, then the swimmer will not swim that week.

  6. Please note that if a swimmer registers for an event/s but does not race, a point will be taken off their Championship Points for withdrawing.  If a race is missed due to illness or injury, a point will not be taken off.  The Club has had to implement this policy as we have had swimmers register for Club Night Time Trials and not show up to race or pull out of races at the last minute.  This is extremely inefficient and means that races are swum with an empty lane, thus making the night run longer.

On the day ......

  1. Swimmers must arrive at the pool no later than 4.30pm.

  2. Swimmers must bring their cap, goggles, water bottles, towels and a warm top in case it is a cool evening.

  3. Once registered at the pool, swimmers must go straight to the Swimmers Bay.

  4. Coaches will take swimmers through stretches.

  5. Swimmers will need to put on caps, goggles and be ready for warm-up by 4.35m.

  6. Swimmers will be taken through a warm-up in the pool from 4.40pm to 4.55pm.

  7. Races will commence at approximately 5.00pm.

  8. We expect Club Night will be finished by approximately 6.45pm however as there are a large amount of swimmers this season, races may go longer.  Every attempt will be made for the younger swimmers to swim as early as possible.

  9. Swimmers are not able to swim in the pool in between races.  They must stay in the Swimmers Bay at all times.  If parents would like to see the swimmers, they must come to the bay.

  10. Once swimmers have finished their races, they can sit with their parents, have dinner or leave the pool.

  11. We ask all swimmers not eat dinner until after their races have finish.
